The North Point Story:
Debbie and I married in 1983 and immediately became involved with youth ministry. Our love for young people, and young couples increased as the years passed. God placed a desire in our hearts for worship that was relative to the time we lived in. I knew the Holy Spirit was at work in September of 2003, I just didn’t know the specifics. In the summer of 2004, I was introduced to another local minister named Ryan Bishop. We did not realize it at the time, but both of us had been in contact with the South Carolina Baptist Convention regarding the start of a new church in Gaffney. We were encouraged to meet as we both were essentially envisioning the same type of church. In September of 2004, there were two groups meeting in homes to pray, worship, and discuss the start of a new church. In October of 2004, those two groups became one, and the people continued to meet in homes for worship. At that time we averaged around 30 to 35 people. The church officially launched on Sunday September 11, 2005. Since that time we have continued to worship and meet in homes throughout the Gaffney area. God has Blessed!
